Bausch + Lomb & TerraCycle®:
A Partnership for a Greener Planet

Did you know that contact lenses and their packaging aren't typically accepted by your local municipal recycling programs? Their small size and unique composition mean they often get sorted out and end up in landfills. But that doesn't mean you can't be part of a solution!

Here at Comly Eye Care, we are proud to be a participating location in the Bausch + Lomb ONE by ONE Recycling Program, in partnership with TerraCycle®. This innovative program makes it easy and free for you to recycle your used contact lens waste, keeping it out of our oceans, lakes, and landfills.

How Our Recycling
Program Works

  • Collect your waste:

    Keep a small container at home to collect your used contact lenses, plastic blister packs, and the foil tops. You can collect waste from any brand of contact lenses, not just Bausch + Lomb!

  • Make sure it's ready:

    Please ensure your collected items are empty and dry before you bring them in.

  • Drop them off at our office:

    Bring your collection to our office during business hours and drop it in our designated recycling bin. We'll take care of the rest!

What Can You Recycle with Us?

This program accepts a variety of contact lens-related waste, including:

  • Used contact lenses (all brands)

  • Plastic blister packs (all brands)

  • Foil tops from blister packs (all brands)

  • Contact lens cases

  • Bausch + Lomb branded eye drop bottles and caps

  • Small-size solution bottles and caps (4oz or less)

Please Note: The cardboard boxes that your contact lenses and solutions come in should be recycled through your regular curbside recycling program.

What Happens to the Recycled Materials?

Once our collection bin is full, we ship the materials to TerraCycle®. They sort the waste, clean it, and separate the different components. The metal foils are recycled, while the plastics are melted down and molded into new products like park benches, playground equipment, and picnic tables. You're not just recycling—you're helping to create something new and useful!
